I concur that it can take some time to get used to a synthetic voice. I found the Portuguese real speak made fewer pronunciation mistakes than did Reed of Eloquence fame. But I'm not sure if I'd want to set the real speak voices as my primary voices. .

Thanks much,.

Thanks, but Vocalizer and RealSpeak are not there. JAWS lists 6
synthicizers but there are only three showing when I click on Voice
Profiles. I know that I can open each to make additional choices after
selecting one but 3 of the choices are not in the list at all.

What you are seeing there are the speech engines (4), not the individual
voices (6). You may have more than one Vocalizer Exressive voice, or more
than one voice within its submenu (right-arrow into it to explore).
Whatever the case, that's the governing principle for each of the speech
engines.

Thanks Jim, but why is JAWS telling me that I already have the 6
synthesizers when they aren't there?

You have to download the others from fs.com.

Hello-

I am using JAWS 14. When I do the command; Insert+Control+v it tells
me that I have the following voices available to me: Eloquence, Sapi
5, Vocalizer Direct and RealSpeak Solo Direct. It tells me that I
have 6 synthesizers installed. The problem is that when I go to the
JAWS menus and to voices the only ones listed are Eloquence and 2
versions of Sapi. How do I access the other 3 synthesizer choices?

Thanks in advance for any help.
