Hi.
Keeping up those SMA's is a good idea, especially now that it can be done more cheaply for those who are able to use the home license for 120 dollars every 2 years which really isn't too awful bad a deal as long as we have a stable and fast product. If one feels the cost of keeping jaws isn't more than jaws is worth, then maybe it be time to try something else? I'm really glad we have so many choices to do \so, though I think I'd better stop before someone decides I'm going off topic *grin*.

I believe that we will need to wait for jaws 17. I have 15 and if I want to get 17, I will need to purchase 16 which seen to me a waist of my money. Oh well jaws does not allow us to just get 17.

Hi.
Cortana, excuse any typos, doesn't work too well on my netbook, but I'm
willing to believe that I'm not using it properly and perhaps my
computer isn't the best example in any case. As for Sparton, I tried to
try it, and got nowhere. The only thing that almost worked was using the
touch cursor commands, but I was unable to find the address bar.

No surprise though, it is likely to take a bit for screen readers to get
a handle on things with that, those virtual buffers tend to be tricky in
that controls they aren't supporting just don't get any support at all.
It isn't like a native interface where you can try to work around issues
and it still mostly works.

Hi.
I think I can add to the bit about Adobe. Apparently, according to a
podcast I heard recently that I would name if I could remember which it
was, Adobe is taking part in the development of Sparton in at least a
small way, let alone making its own offerings compatible.

I haven't proven this, I just heard it by word of mouth on a podcast and
I don't know for certain.

Hello group,

It seems that my recent post has created some questions and confusion.

With that in mind, I'm sending a copy of an e-mail I sent to Bob Entofer. He had some reasonable questions and I'm hoping that this message will help
to clear up anyone else's concerns.

Bob, I can answer some of these questions but not all of them, yet.

How did you find out that Microsoft is no longer going to use internet
explorer for windows 10?

That information has been available for quite some time. If you were to Google Windows 10, you would find that information. In addition, Freedom Scientific and Microsoft always work in tandem and make sure that any new
software they come out with is compatible.

Can you tell me a little bit about Spartan? Will it be accessible with jaws?
and can you use adobe flash player with it?

Spartan is a search engine built with Google Chrome and Firefox as the
initial platform. It has characteristics of both Google Chrome and Firefox.

Adobe Flash Player is an independent software package. However, be assured that Adobe is no fool. I'm sure that their software is already compatible or that they will come out with one of their new updates which will render
it workable with Windows 10.

Will it be accessible with jaws?

I have never found a Microsoft major software package that wasn't accessible with Jaws. Some of the elements in Microsoft Office aren't Jaws friendly but for the most part, there hasn't been a Microsoft operating system that
Jaws couldn't work with.

Could I also use Free YouTube to MP3 converter to download and convert music
videos to mp3?

Again, you are asking about software which operates independently from the Windows operating system. I don't see any compatibility issues but only
time will tell.

Will I need to install Spartan if I upgrade to windows 10? Or, does it come
installed with windows 10?

Windows 10 will use Spartan in the same way as prior versions used Internet Explorer. There will be no need to "upgrade" since Spartan is already a
part of the Windows 10 operating system.

Why is it, that internet explorer is being replaced?

In the past two years, Microsoft has reported thousands of instances in which Internet Explorer was used as a gateway into personal and commercial computer systems. Although Microsoft has attempted to recognize and deal
with these situations, it was determined that the most reliable way of
handling all of these intrusions was to develop and implement a completely
new search engine. That is what will be done with the introduction of
Windows 10 and The Spartan search facility.
