Mike, Thanks for the heads up with malwarebytes. I cannot find the email you send on the bug net that connects to the doorway to order a couple.
I'm doing much better now, even though the house is not 100% accessible and crawling like a dog sometimes, Hahahaha. Take care homie, Jorge -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Michael Boyd Sent: Monday, June 15, 2015 7:51 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Question on Malwarebytes Hi Mike, Here's how I have done it. After opening the program, tab down to the Scan button, not the "Scan Now" button. From here you can arrow left and right. Now arrow left to the Settings button, andtab down one time. Here you will find the General Settings button, and you then arrow left to find the Automatic Scheduling button. Tabbing down from here you will find "Add", and you need to press enter here. Now tab down and it will ask what type of scan you want, and as you know, the Threat Scan is the same as a Full Scan. OK, here is where JAWS starts having a little trouble, but nothing serious. You will have to tab down four or fibe times to get to the next element, which is the "Start Date". If the date displayed is not your desired date, then just type in the date that you want, taking note of the format used. It says here that you can also use the arrow keys to make your selection, but when I tried this, it moved in 1 month intervals, not daily intervals. Also note, Once you tab down however many times to find the start time, you only have to shift tab once to get back to the previous element, and once back to where you were. Nest will come the Start Time and then the Frequency that you want the scans to happen at. After this, you will find an "Advanced" button, but when the space bar is pressed on this, it only checks or unchecks the item, so I cannot honestly say what this is for. Lastly, the next thing you will find are a Cancel button and an OK button. Press enter or the space bar on OK, and your schedule is set. It is apparent that you may not be able to schedule threat scans and Hyper scans (Quick scans) to run on different days like you could in the old versions. There are still a few minor problems that I think we should try to get Malware Bytes to clean up, and I can and will write them about these. Unfortunately, they have changed not only their software, but also the way in which their support system works, and where I used to speak with the same person all of the time, he was promoted, and you now speak to someone different everytime. This unfortunately is not condusive to getting something done in a timely manner. I hope the explanation above is of some help to you. It seems like there are options that Jaws doesn't read, like save. When I select the, Add, option that doesn't work either. I can't find an apply button to press first. Anyways, I've made several attempts at making the latest MWB work for me, instead of me working for it, but if I can't get the scheduled scan functioning I'll stick with the earlier 1.75 version. Do you have any save scheduling tips? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Take Care. When you open the program, and you see Dashboard, Update Data Base, Scan, or whatever button, and it will be either checked or not, it should be checked to be enabled. Arrow left or right from anyone of these to find other topics that you can tab down through to adjust other settings. Under on of these headings, I believe it is the Protection heading, you will find the Quarrantine, which gives you the option to view it and to delete "All" at first, and then "Selected" after you make the selections of what you want deleted. Some of the items listed below the main headings are sub-headings, and you also have the capability of arrowing left or right from these to find more stuff. Hope this helps. It does take a few minutes to go through the whole thing, but once you have it set up like you want it, the only thing you have to do is go back to view the quarrantine and delete the detections that were found. You also have the option to set MB to automatically take care of removing detections for you. But, for some reason I was able to save the report to my documents twice only. The old Malwarebytes, I was able to view the scan report and remove any bad files it found. By selecting ALL, then a right mouse click and arrow to remove. Also, the old Malwarebytes would read out the in coming malware API or address that Malwarebytes rejected or send to the vault. But, this Malwarebytes kinda runs in the back ground and it runs pretty much on it's own. I have not heard it say, a word yet on any incoming malware. After accepting yes on the wind7 allowing Malwarebytes to make changes to your computer. Cycle a round with alt + tab back to Malwarebytes. Press tab to update, then to scan enter, Malwarebytes just does it's thing. The only scan that it does run is the threat scan. Are you able to change the scan type? When, the scan is completed, you can save it anyway you prefer or done. Then paste it somewhere. Or save it to my documents folder, I tab down to the desktop click, I up arrow once to my documents. Then, I tab and view that it is going to my documents, One tab and you should hear the first folder in my documents. Then, I tab to the save button. It seems that I'm doing it right, but is not saving to my documents to view. You can play with the jaws currsors, but it is not going to save the Malwarebytes report to your document folder. Can anyone add some help?
