The changing of email addresses isn't a hassle as much as it is to notify other 
people that you've changed.

If you use a general email provider like Yahoo or Google mail then it doesn't 
matter whether you switch your ISP to cable, DSl, or whatever, your email 
address won't change.

You can set up a "generic" address with any email client.  You just need to 
know the settings.  You can easily look up Gmail settings for Windows LiveMail. 
All the settings for Gmail either pop or imap are the same, no matter what 
email program you use.  It is just in some programs, the locations of where you 
put in the pop server if it can't automatically identify it based on your email 
address and other settings may be different.
