It's o.k. thanks friends, I have found it, you can do this from control panel, enter update in the ssearch field and then tab to add features, it asks you for your serial number but the product has to be activated first and this is proving to be a nightmare on the automated phone system. I can't get JAWS to read the screen with the activation codes on it either for some reason :-) Not sure if it is protected but insert+alt+w won't capture that screen to text, not sure if there is a video card issue. I may need to ask my Wife to help me with this process. Total rubbish, very Disapointing Microsoft although I know they have to protect their product from piracy! Itg sholdn't be that difficult to activate!

I think you need to go to the store in a specific way as it doesn't work off the tiles? Maybe it is add/remove features but I have a product key, I remember that the first stage was to select media centre and then you have two options, I already have a product key or buy one? -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Bailes Sent: 24 June 2015 10:10 To: Jaws Users Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS And Windows 8 Hi Hicks, For a period after windows 8 was launched, windows media centre was a free add on for the professional version, so I didn't go through the same process. However I was given a product key (just like a windows operating system key), so I can reinstall it if I have to rebuild my computer. David. original message: Hi again friends, I have installed Windows 8 Professional now and was very disappointed to find that it doesn't seem to come with Windows Media Centre. I checked on the web initially and it seems that you have to purchase this on line, as an add on, has anyone been through this process that could give me some guidance? I am just wondering that once you have made the purchase, what happens if you have to re-build your machine, do you have to purchase Media Centre again? I have not yet activated the Windows 8 as I am still trying to decide on whether I will keep it or go back to Windows 7 but I would like to try to get used to it.
