One way to be sure is what it says at the top line. If it says simply "amazon" then you are on the site for screen readers. IF is says "Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more" then you are on the full site. One thing you may want to try is deleting cookies.

I hope it works for you. The way I figured out what was
going on is what comes up when bringing up the amazon site.
If you go to www.amazon.com, which site comes up? Is it the
full site or is it the site designed for screen readers? If
it's the one for screen readers, then research it won't
work. If it's the full site, it should work. When I first
had this problem, I mentioned that on one machine it worked
fine, while on the other it didn't. Figures since on the
desktop, I haven't logged into my amazon account.

Shane,

Thanks, will try it out later. This must be something new
on FS side
or Amazon side as I have always stayed logged into my
Amazon account
and the research it function has always worked until just
of late.
Best,
Al

Okay, for those having issues with amazon research it, I
found out
what the problem is and how to fix it.
problem: Go to www.amazon.com/access. Sign in with an
amazon account.
Then close your browser. When you use the amazon research
it function
at this point, you will not get results.
cause: I suspect the reason for this is 2 fold. Amazon
likely places a
cookie on your computer when you sign in that tells the
browser to go
to the amazon.com/access site, rather than the full site.
As a result,
this screws with the research it utility.
fix: Open your browser, go to www.amazon.com. then hit the
sign out
link. Close your browser. Now, try the research it
function. It will
work as expected.
Hope this helps as I know some folks here are having
issues with this.
Have a good day.
