Tom, that will work temporarily. it will eventually show up again. best thing to do is download the stand alone (portable) gwx control panel program and remove that nag. later on, you can unremove it if you decide to take microsoft's offer:

After downloading, run the program. It will require administrator privileges. You can tab through the main interface with your screen reader. You will have to use the Jaws cursor if you want to read everything on the screen. It is pretty self explanatory. After disabling the annoying GWX, you can also enable a real-time monitoring app that will notify you if MS tries to slip Windows 10 onto your system in the future.

This is a real nice little utility that is helping a lot of folks with this problem.
