Hi.

This machine will run windows 10 quite well spec wise. There may be driver issues but as far as performance goes it should be no trouble at all. Also, it will run JAWS fine but if you're just having a screen reader for emergency sake you might keep it simple and just put NVdA on that. Also, 2gb of ram is totally fine for the usage case you outlined.

Win10 in my personal opinion is very efficient, sometimes just as efficient as xp, I don't anticipate any difficulties. I just installed win10 on a similarly equipped computer a couple months ago and it runs flawlessly.

Hi Everyone,

I have and old laptop that use to be my work pc. It has XP Pro on it for an
operating system. Also It has two batteries and they are just like new. It
was never use more than maybe 75 to 100 hours is a guess. I was wondering
what your opinion would be if it would be good enough for my wife to use.
All she does is email, Facebook and does some searching on the web. I want
to put Windows 10 on it and Jaws so I can do maintenance on it. My wife
does not need Jaws. So she would be using it with just Windows 10 so I am
wondering if it would be good enough for that. I know the ram is pretty
low. Here are the spec on the laptop.

Dell Vostro 1720

IntelR Core 2 Duo CPU

T570 @ 2.10GHz

2.09 GHz, 1.96 GB of RAM

Any suggestions and opinions would be appreciated.

Ed
