That works temporarily, but to make it permanent there's probably a place in settings. Go to help in the JAWS option then to start-up wizard where you can change it permanently.

For some reason on my new Dell notebook computer I cannot find where to have
Jaws speak the keys as I type.  I looked in Jaws basic options and found
nothing to do with how I want Jaws to respond as I type.  I would like Jaws
to speak each key as I type.  I thought this was the default setting but
apparently not.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am using Windows
7 on this computer with latest Jaws 17 update.
