Hi,
once you're in the file, you can press alt + F, then I, then E. That will
enable editing. The trouble with that is that it only works for that file.
To permanently change this, you need to press alt + f, then up arrow to
options. You will find the options for this in either security or trust
center depending on what version of Outlook you're using.
HTH,
                                                Jorge

Tanny, I get those docs from my school. After I open the doc I turn on the
JAWS cursor and go to Enable Editing and place the JAWS cursor on the E in
Enable. Next, I use the PC to JAWS command and editing is enabled and I
save the doc.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] protected documents help

Good morning!

I am running Microsoft Office 2013, Jaws 17 & Windows 8.1. When I download
documents, it is in protective view. I have gotten the message that it is
in protected view because it has been downloaded from the internet. Since it
is in this view, I have problems reading it with Jaws. How do I change
this so I can read these documents? Thanks so much for any information!
