Hi, The problem of JAWS not reading the items in an Excel spreadsheet drop down list has been a long-standing intermittent problem for me. I use Excel on 2 different computers and it happens on one more than the other. I am using Windows7 on both machines, and JAWS versions 16 and 17 on both machines. Sometimes JAWS will only announce the current item that is selected when you open the list and nothing else. Other times nothing is read from the list.
Although I have never found a fix, you can try the following: Make sure the window is maximized. Use Insert+Escape to refresh the screen. Alt+Tab away from Excel and then go back. Close Excel and re-open it. If you know the contents of the list, you should be able to start typing your selection and Excel should complete it for you. Pressing enter will select it. Be aware, sometimes this technique works intermittently. If you find a fix, please post.
