It is all about the index when messing with the search features.

I've wondered about this, too, since Windows 7 search hasn't been picking up
my .docx files. I think I just found the answer at the following webpage.
Note that once you change your search settings, the system goes through what
looks like a lengthy indexing process, which I didn't pick up on right away.
It continues as I write this message, although I'm told that by working on
the computer, I'm slowing it down. Let's hope this works:

I was wanting to know if it is possible for me to press the windows key on
the desktop, type in a phrase and search all of my documents for this
particular phrase. I hope this makes sense. I tried this, and all I got was
