Hi
In Outlook 2010 there are Settings for Pop3 email accounts to control
whether the emails will be kept or deleted from the web site when they are
downloaded to Outlook. If they are kept after being downloaded, there are
settings to say how long they are kept. I would guess that there are the
same or similar settings for subsequent versions of Outlook.

For iMap email accounts, the messages will be deleted from the web site when
they are deleted from Outlook.

In Outlook 2010 do the following to set those settings for each Pop3 email
account. Note that these settings must be set for each Pop3 email account
separately.

1. Open Outlook.
2. Press alt+f to open the back state view.
3. Tab to Account settings and press enter.
4. Again press enter on Account settings.
5. tab to the Pop3 email account you want to change and then press alt+a to
edit the settings.
6. Tab to more settings and press enter.
7. Press shift+tab to get to the general tab and right arrow 3 time to get
to the advanced tab.
8. Tab to Leave a copy on the server. If you want the emails to be deleted
when they are downloaded to Outlook, make sure that this item is not
checked. If you want to have the messages stay on the server after they are
downloaded to Outlook, make sure this item is checked.
9. If you chose to leave messages on the server after they are downloaded,
then additional settings will appear. The first one is a check box that if
checked will automatically delete any emails after so many days from when it
was downloaded.
10. Next is the number of days that the message will stay on the server
after it is downloaded.
11. The final setting is a check box that if checked will delete any message
when it is deleted from the Deleted Items folder.
12. Repeatedly tab to the Ok button and press enter until you are out of
the dialog and back in Outlook.

Yes, but Comcast sometimes is hard to get around to the emails.

Hello Patti,

I always go to the website and delete messages there. I also have folders
on the website to save important or interesting messages so I have them even
if my computer crashes or Outlook gets corrupted.

Wayne

Hey Gang,

When I read an email through outlook, how can I delete it off the website?

I looked through the menu, and didn't see anything to change.

Does anyone know what I can do?

I'm running windows 10, and jaws 18.

Patti
