You'd have to purchase an installation CD that isn't specific to some 
hardware. For example, I have separate Windows XP installation CDs for my 
Toshiba laptop and my Dell desktop and d because of the strong possibility 
that either of these CDs might have been customized to install things that 
are specific to the system with which each was supplied, I would never try 
to use either disk on any other system or, for that matter, even on another 
model of computer from the same manufacturer. I don't know what generic 
Windows XP installation CDs are selling for these days, but that would be 
your only solution. I'm very surprised that you didn't receive a full set of 
restore CDs with your computer.

Don't like to address this subject here but if I ever had to do this
reinstall windows I don't think I recieved the disks so exactly how would
that be done?
