[Jaxen] Jaxen memory requirement

We are working data import for Scarab open source project, it is very appealing for us to use Jaxen. we would like to ask a question: does Jaxen require every elements in memory? we think this is important because we don't want to make the assumption about the size of the xml file exported or transformed from other bug tracking system)   thanks
