Unfortunately, this can happen for all sorts of reasons and they are
usually outside the control of jBASE. Some common issues:

1) The network printer goes offline;
2) The network printed appears to go offline but it is really something
to do with Windows;
3) There is some transient permissions problem;
4) The Windows spooler isn't configured correctly to handle multiple
jobs at once and some systems are trying to send directly to the printer
and some are going through the Windows server;
5) The printer drivers or operating system is not patched up to date
(this is cause #1, so make sure they at least update the printer
drivers);
6) Someone changed the printer configuration on the fly;
7) Cause #2 - someone canceled someone else's job to get theirs to run,
and in the process did something else that screws everything up;
8) Check with jBASE support for latest patches (you are reasonably up to
date I think, otherwise I would put this about #2 or #3)
9) Perhaps the job is too big (disk space? domain permissions for print
job size?) or contains some incorrect printer instructions?

In order, I would do this:

1) Update the printer drivers and network card drivers to the latest
versions;
2) Update the operating systems bang up to date via Widows update;
3) Reboot the printer;
4) Delete the jBASE queue;
5) :SP-NEWTAB the jBASE spooler (back up any print jobs they need of
course);
6) See if there are any updates for the network equipment they are using
- this is quite often a source of angst as people throw in a cheap
router or switch and never update the firmware;

Unfortunately, spooling from notepad and so on does not really tell you
much as you could just be getting lucky. Unfortunately, it is a process
of trial and error because all the jBASE spooler gets is a generic error
that does not really pin anything down.
