Actually this suggests another creative alternative. A request [to the CVS
server developers] for a parameterised $Log$ tag (e.g. $Log(x)$) that will
only include the last x log entries and will leave a notice if there are
previous log entries.

PS      Actually after reading Oleg's comments I have more sympathy for the "it's
all in the source baby" view. I prefer it out if it is easily accessible
(like on a CVS client that caches it client-side) but being in the source
should be the workaround not my previous suggestion.
