You can now specify what locking policy to use for your particular beans. This will enable optimistic locking to be used. This is on a per-bean configuration basis through jboss.xml. The field in jboss/standardjboss.xml is <locking-policy>class name of policy</locking-policy> we provide the SimplePessimisticEJBLock that implements pessimistic locking on Transaction and straight EJB spec required serialization.
