We have started work on pluggable session managers, but no definite plans
on when it will make it into a release.
Two options, add it as part of the 2.3 API work, which will mean it will only
be available after several months of alpha and beta releases.
Or, add it to the 3.1.x series, which should be able to be done in a few
weeks.
It sounds like jboss would like this sooner rather than later, so the
second approach may be the best one.
