My impression at this point is that unless an ObjectFactory is provided (to
use Referenceable/Reference) everything gets serialized. However there is
much I don't understand in jndi. The stuff I looked at had lots of code
that throws a CannotProceedException which I think tells the infrastructure
to try a different piece of the naming system.
