You can go to Window>Preferences>Java>Installed JREs to do that.
i know, i know, my friend: but this doesn't do any light shedding on the problem. i always working with the jdk who is configured under 'Installed JREs'.

you are looking in your am-i-in-a-jdk-environment thingy for an jar file name, don't you? this is ugly. try to load the specific class; i hate ClassForName. nowhere in the spec is mentioned which class should resist in which jar.

same procedure as for the tools.jar and the jsp compiler ...

BTW: adding an item in one place and editing it in a totaly other smells leike kleinweich ...
