Hi Rickard,
I downloaded the 2.1 beta binary yesterday and it solved a lot of the
configuration problems I was fighting with earlier. Thanks...

Could you post the simple change that you made to the server.xml file. No
need in dowmloading the full ~8MB for a one line change :)

Thanks again

ross

Subject: [jBoss-User] JBoss/Tomcat 2.1 beta binary updated

Hi all!

David Castro noticed a minor problem with the 2.1 beta binary that I
just released (Tomcat's server.xml was wrong). I have corrected it, and
uploaded a new binary to the same place and with the same name (since
it's such a minor problem). (Note that it might take awhile before the
binary on the site is updated. The old one is dated 25-Feb-2001 02:32)

However, while the problem itself was minor, the effects are HUGE in
terms of performance. I am pleased to announce the following performance
stats, taken from the Tomcat test EAR that compares "Hello World" type
calls in optimized and non-optimized mode:
* In-VM, non-optimized: 0.8 ms/call
* In-VM, optimized: 0.08 ms/call

These numbers are for an Athlon 650MHz/256MB RAM. The tests are run a
couple of times to let HotSpot do its thing.

To be honest, I've never seen this kind of raw speed before, but it's
very very nice :-)
I mean, below one tenth of a ms per call... phew.. maybe we should try
that ECperf package now..

PLgC,
  Rickard
