I had the same question. So I tried other portlets (RSS from PortletSwap) (and created one, only to test preference), the problem is the same. I filled the fields, like RssXml atribute, and click on "Save". When back to verify the preference value, was not modified. So, if I back the database to HSQLDB, this functionality works fine. But I NEED to use MySql here... :( Tks
