No XML issue... I think it has something to do with the new deployment tab. But not quite sure yet. In my environment, the problem does not show when creating a fresh process project. Even importing the websale example in this project and opening it goes very smoothly. If I import jbpm in my workspace however and try to open the websale or the simple example, then Eclipse hangs...
