I am probably missing what you are describing.  Are you saying that this
entry can be some directory that our designers can just chuck images
into? Can you give and example of what the entry in jboss.jcml would
look like for this?

Forgive me if this is in the online manual - the site is real slow for
me right now.

My problem is that Graphical Designers should not have to worry about
deploying wars as they mess around with images.

You can deploy a war that is a directory by adding the directory
name to the AutoDeployer configuration.
