A ClassCastException is never a sign of corruption. If you have
the testcase, even if its buggy post it to sourceforge as a bug so
I can see what the cause is.

I was getting a bogus ClassCastException also.
I fixed it by adding try/catch blocks to all my
MBean threads.  My guess is that an exception
thrown from a thread wasn't being handled and
was somehow (horror!) corrupting the VM causing
subsequent bogus ClassCastExceptions.  I had
a reproducible case yesterday, but now that I've
fixed it, it's well... fixed.
