Betreff: RE: [JBoss-user] Problem with sudden unexpected shutdown

I use the following to launch JBoss 3.2.1 on Solaris. I don't have any
problems at all of JBoss shutting down/hanging when I log out of the rlogin
session that I was in when I started JBoss.

run_foo.sh:

#!/bin/sh
( nohup ./run.sh -c foo  ) >> startup.log 2>&1 &

Sounds like the -Xrs parameter on the VM might result in a non-clean
shutdown of JBoss if the box JBoss is running on is bounced without using
the JBoss shutdown.sh script (or the jmx-console). I don't know if I would
feel comfortable using that VM parameter. It also sounds like you wouldn't
be able to use a unix kill either for a clean shutdown, which would be bad
in cases where JBoss is in a state that it isn't responding to the JMX
RMIAdaptor based shutdown (which both the shutdown.sh script and the
jmx-console use).

I presume that the -Xrs wouldn't filter out a kill -9, but that's probably
not a good way to force JBoss down either.
