Hi, I did have the same problem and solved it the following way:
Either set the "isolated" attribute in the ear-deployer.xml to true or include a jboss-app.xml or jboss-web.xml, configured as shown in http://www.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=Logging, in your app. The problem occures since jboss.web also uses the jar!
