What a smart reply: "why arent people read the stack trace?". That exception 
should not be happening: when a bean is passivated , the JNDI ENC must be 
maintained as part of the bean's conversational state. And it is the duty of 
the container.
I wish JBoss would one day work properly. 
Not to mention (which is completely unrelated problem) the documentation from 
jboss that states that you should be able to specify under 
<mbean  code="org.jboss.jms.jndi.JMSProviderLoader" ...>
     <attribute name="ProviderURL"> 
     ... 

This attribute name is not supported (deprecated, but nowhere in jboss 4.0.1 
this is stated), as I found out after lots of painful digging (moving towards 
old jboss version, where tadaaaa, I finaly see the warning message: is 
deprecated. 
Very poor indeed.
And dont say its free, that does not justify this noddie quality
