Hi All,
I added the following line in .bash_profile.
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:/javadir/jdk1.2.2/lib/i386
and also set the jde-bug-jre-directory. It worked.

P.S: I am very new to linux and jde. I hope the answer is not very dumb.
