I want to modify the JDE font lock mode so that I can add some keywords
to the list.

Specifically, I want to have FIXME and XXX comments showing in bright
red, and preferably flashing blinking backgrounds, to annoy me into fixing
them.

I've taken a look at some font lock documents, notably:

http://www.xemacs.org/list-archives/xemacs/199806/msg00078.html

and

http://www.cs.ualberta.ca/~vladimir/emacs/infodock/UofA/tiny/html/ema-font.html

but my knowledge of lisp is just not that great, and I can't figure out what
the heck is going on.

Here's the stuff that I've tried, which basically doesn't show anything different...

;;; Make FIXME and XXX stand out as big ugly warnings.
(make-face 'font-lock-fixme-face)
(set-face-foreground 'font-lock-fixme-face "Red")
(set-face-background 'font-lock-fixme-face "Yellow")
(setq fixme-keyword-names "fixme\\|xxx\\")

(setq extra-keywords
      (list
      (list (concat "\\<\\(" fixme-keyword-names "\\)\\>") 1 'highlight)
       ))

and then presumably you'd add extra-keywords onto the java-keywords-list, which I
still can't find...

Has someone already done this, or knows how this is supposed to work?

Will.
