I've done this, but when I check the variable, I don't see xxx or fixme in
java-font-lock-keywords.  It says it's loaded from "font-lock", if that helps any. 
Typing the offending keywords in a Java file shows no change.

Do I need to set this before we load up font-lock?  I'm kind of at a loss...
