In the site wide lisp startup (site-init.el).

User stuff is the config of *my* environment (and your environment
and paul's environment etc...) It's stuff like "I use kaffe as a VM -
I use jikes as a compiler" but it could be all sorts of things - I'm
not mandating (I can't with the current project system).

That sort of stuff I think can be done with .emacs (which is per user
after all).

Yeah... but you define the build stuff in Ant or Make or whatever you
want and then have JDE call that... I'm intending to make that work.
What I'm not going to draw is any distinction between release and
development... eg: if you want to switch to using the Make "release"
from using the "development" target you'll have to change the project
config.

I don't see the release/dev thing as a big problem as I say.... most
people have a set release procedure or there procedure is just to
build...

BTW would anybody be interested in a seperate list to discuss this
stuff? It seems we're clogging the JDE list up a bit - I bet there's
quite a few people sick of "re: proj..." in the subject.

Please email me privately in support of a branched list (for this one
issue only).
