Hi, I think that you should show them some of the useful features of JDE, such as code templates, auto-generation of imports, automatically going to the source code of a particular class, etc. But I wouldn't argue that you should tell them that JDE is more suitable for Java coding than the IDEs you mention. It's better for me, and probably for most of the readers of this list, because it is so closely integrated with Emacs. Emacs, and JDE, are high-performing tools for people who have the time and inclination to learn how to use them. If you don't have both, a graphical IDE that is easier to learn is a better tool. At least that's what I think.
