That is what we hoped would happen, so I'm glad to hear it.

Unfortunately, the last JDEE release was with JDK/JRE 1.6 as the last
known version. Adding 1.7/1.8 will require a (small and relatively
trivial) patch. I have not done serious Java development in 18 months or
so, but will be doing so again shortly. If no one else gets to this, I
will have a patch ready at that time.

It should not be a serious problem, just an annoyance in the medium term

The community of Java developers using Emacs is much smaller than those
using IntelliJ or Eclipse or other IDE type editors/environments. Emacs
will only get what its user community contributes to it. Personally I've
stayed with Emacs (not just for Java), and it seems to keep me at least
as productive as my peers who use much different toolsets.
