hi, no, there is nothing strange in this error. when initiating a client connection to a jabber server, the root xml must specify the namespace (here, xmlns='jabber:client'). specifying the namespace in the iq request is not valid. the client connection manager (pthsock for instance) just looks at the root xml ...
