Ernest- IIRC, the ICQv7 transport uses some portions of JECL, correct? If so, this could be the source of your problems, as well. JECL currently requires gcc 3.x+ for full STL support, and FreeBSD only ships with 2.95. At some previous point, I tried installing the gcc3 port on one of my FreeBSD boxes, but had some difficulties with this. (That was several months ago.)
I'm not sure what to tell you beyond that, except that you might consider attacking from that angle. (I can't really help you out much beyond that, I eventually just gave up.) Most of the Jabber software isn't all that FreeBSD friendly, but I'm trying to keep my eye on the 1.5 code, at least to make sure it compiles cleanly. Cheers, bs.
