Yes. But can you really blame us? I will speak for my own, but I guess this applies also to many other people: we know a small subset of XMPP, so obviously we try to build from it what we would really like or prefer (compared to what we know). And then we discover something similar or close exists. I would love to know all the XEP, or better working with XMPP (for now, I just get interested in it during my leisure time, which is small).
