you could
use a combination of server calls and javascripts. a small self-closing
pop-up window makes the request to the server and uses javascript to take
the results and re-populate the drop down in the master
window.
That way
the user doesn't lose the main window every time they change the
combo.
And it's
my opinion for all the shortcomings of javascript it's unavoidable if you want a
smooth user interface in HTML. (just not in email please!!!)
