Attendees: Michael Bouschen, Michelle Caisse, Matthew Adams, Martin Zaun
1. JDO 2.1 maintenance release
Craig has submitted JSR-243 Maintenance Review to the JCP project office
for posting. It will be put up next Tuesday, Oct 24, and run for 30
days, until Nov 23. If there is no reaction from the EC members, then we
go ahead and build the Maintenance Release. If there is an objection to
any of the line items, those items that are objected to will undergo a
vote of the EC, majority wins. See http://wiki.apache.org/jdo/ChangeLog.
2. JDO 2 annotations - split between JDO and ORM
Matthew doesn't see a strong requirement to do this. Martin agrees.
However, there is no harm and it should be possible.
3. Other issues
Michelle checked in tests for null arguments to PersistenceManager apis
such as makePersistent(), makePersistentAll() (JDO-432). All new tests
now pass on the RI.
Michelle also checked in a fix for JDO-324. Michael sees the error that
was reported for this test when running two related tests on a dual core
machine. This was the environment cited in the original bug report. AI
Michael: File a JIRA with details.
Michael also sees failures with two other tests that may be related to
using the latest Derby release. AI Michael: verify relationship to Derby
version and follow up with email or JIRA.
Michael: Should JDOQL support getting current date? Discussion about
the syntax for such a feature, whether it should be a JDOQL keyword or a
static method. AI: Matthew will respond on jdo-dev.
Action Items from weeks past:
[Sep 1 2006] AI Matthew: look into a cleaner separation for object model
vs. mapping annotations. AI Craig check into default handling to
accommodate different defaults based on context. In progress.
[Aug 11 2006] AI Craig propose some semantics for behavior if user tries
to add to a list where the ordering element is incorrect.
[Jul 14 2006] AI: Erik document 220 annotations that don't have a
corresponding JDO concept.
[Jun 23 2006] AI Martin look at what Hibernate and TopLink support for
Enum types. In progress.
[Apr 14 2006] AI Craig: update the roadmap for JDO. In progress.
[Nov 4 2005] AI Martin: Update Martin's wiki with discusion of JDK 1.5
issues. In progress
[Sep 2 2005] AI: To recruit members, update the web site. Articles on
TheServerSide directing attention to the site. T-shirts, logo. AI:
Craig write a ServerSide article.
