Oh, yes, this goes without saying. Jess 5 is Java 1.1+ only; Java 1.0
is no longer supported.  All the deprecation warnings are gone  -- of
course, this adds to the fun; the 16-bit Unicode I/O creates lots of
little helper objects so it's slower and piggier. I had a lot of work
getting the speed and memory profile back up to where it was before!

By the way, as far as I know, none of the deprecated APIs in 1.1
disappear in 1.2. In fact, it looks as though some things
(PrintStream's constructors, for example) have been -un- deprecated,
because the associated class's behaviour has been fixed up.
