To say that J++ is an extension of Java is to drastically misstate the
case. In many ways J++ is a subset of Java. It is true that MS has
added extensions into J++ in the sense of making it more dependant on
the windows native libraries, and some have asserted that this improves
performance (I'll probably be finding out soon). This is not sufficient
to count as extending Java when it is missing JNI and JavaBeans support,
and when some of the internal class interface definitions have been
(shall we say "adjusted") to better suit the MS purposes.
