Rudolph,
   that is certainly another way of doing it. I already use Mixed Jess/Java
(some complex numerical analysis in user functions) and so I could have a three
layer cake Java - Jess - Java. Again, though, it just seems wrong to add layers
of complexity when a minor modification to Jess (Ernest: that's called wry
British humour btw) would do everything I need, and more.

So, I suppose you might say my original request for modules was motivated
somewhat by aesthetics and not by purely practical concerns (I have it working
now .. just not 'prettily'). Of course I have to wonder what percentage of CLIPs
systems that might want to move to Jess (especially with Ernest's recent
turbocharging - way to go, Ernest!!) use modules ?
