I use the WEB-INF/classes pretty extensively for developing. The trick I found that made it work for me is that if you are going to compile a file with the name "yourfile.class" that has the package name "com.cisco.esales.modules", your class file needs to be a directory structure similar to the following example: "WEB-INF/classes/com/cisco/esales/modules/yourfile.class"
