I got it working well at some point so there is hope. Unfortunately I
can't remember the details or workaround to the problems I encountered.
Basically my target at the time was to use icefaces in the context of
webflow in a portlet and I got that all working..

Here were some of the threads I dug up from previous research:

http://www.icefaces.org/JForum/posts/list/4632.page

http://www.icefaces.org/JForum/posts/list/15/4184.page

http://www.icefaces.org/JForum/posts/list/4481.page

However since then I've come up with far better ways to integrate
webflows on JSF pages and with new version of webflow. I haven't tried
it in a portlet environment but this would be the way to go on new
development. I've submitted JIRA to spring on this:

http://jira.springframework.org/browse/SWF-660

Good luck and let me know if you make progress using SWF-660 solution in
a portlet,
Garry

Subject: Re: ICEfaces and jetspeed

we dumped ICEfaces for richfaces that along with portletbridge work just
fine in portals.
The main issue we had then with ICEfaces was the comet/pushlet thing
that
1- You have to define new servlet that operate outside our JSF/Facelets
one.

2- doesn't scale well
3- A hell of headache for firewalls that usually closed their longed
lived connections.
Having said that, the richfaces is used under JBoss Portal and we
haven't tried it under Jetspeed yet.
