Jetspeed runs in all recent versions of Tomcat (5.5.x 6.x)
Are you running from the installer or trying to build it yourself?
Sounds like you trying to build locally and then deploy into an
existing Tomcat. May I suggest downloading the demo installer, running
the installer, verifying that it starts up. Then you can compare the
Tomcat version that you built yourself with the one the installer
creates for you. Key areas to compare are shared/lib, conf/Catalina/
localhost/jetspeed.xml
