Schools to include Human Rights in their Curriculum

human-rights-declarationThe Ministry of General Education and the
National Human Rights Commission have agreed in principle to integrate
human rights in all school curriculums.The Chairperson of  the Human
Rights Commission, Laurence Korbandy, told Radio Miraya following his
meeting with education authorities that they have agreed on shared
views on how human rights could be taught to students.

"...we agreed we shall continue to have a contnious dialogue until we
come up with very good education curriculum particularly in the areas
of human rights" Korbandy clarfied

The Ministry of General Education has accepted the proposal of the
commission saying that the forthcoming meeting will define the role
each party will play in defining priorities and objectives.
