Hello,
We are often getting queries on the email list about what sort of
servers are required for such and such number of hosts or interfaces.
I was going to put a section in the documentation giving some examples
of real-world implementations so that others know what people are using
and what sort of performance they could expect.
So if, possible, probably direct to me, could people send some metrics?
Things that would be useful would be:
Monitored Hosts:
Monitored Interfaces:
CPU:
Memory:
Disks: (just the type, sata, scsi or ide)
OS:
Load: (5 minute average, across say a week, or cpu%)
For one installation I'm aware of it would be
CPU Memory Disks Hosts Interfaces OS
Load
P4 2.8 GHz 1GB SATA 150 2000 Debian
sarge 5avg max 2
Database and pollers on separate identical servers.
I'll compilie the lot into one chunk and send it to the list and put
it in the documents.
