Does anyone have an idea? I want to continue monitoring the switch and graphing
the ports that are online but don't want it to appear that the switch is in
trouble because some of the ports are unused. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Subject: [jffnms-users] Interface/Host monitoring without alerts

Hello! I've got a Cisco Catalyst 5500 switch that is constantly telling me it
is down because some of the ports are not being used. Is there any way to
monitor the availability via ping/port23 and graph the active ports without
having to deal with alerts on the unused ports? I've tried unchecking the
"check status" option on the interfaces but it doesn't seem to 'stick'. I'd
appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thank you!
