Organomics and more visual appeal is all I ever heard why ribbons were introduced.

All it seems to do is add layers that hides what used to be so much more easily accessed, at least by screen readers. I get lost in the damn layers, not knowing where I am or how to get out. Yes, I know the shortcut keys are still there, but as I said previously, I'm a menu person, not a shortcut person. Consequently, I'll use any program that doesn't yet make use of the ribbons, such as Jart or NotePad for texting, and Thunderbird for email.
